Employee Of The Month Charity Donation – St Oswald’s

Each month our employee of the month nominates his or her favourite charity, and we donate £10 on behalf of every employee at Allay.
We sat down with our most recent employee of the month Lisa Elliot who is based at our Newcastle office, to find out more about her and what charity she is nominating.

How long have you worked at Allay?
It’s been 5 years and 3 months.

What are your day-to-day responsibilities?
I manage the invoicing and insolvency teams, dealing with all external Insolvency Practitioners once an invoice has been raised.

Congratulations on being named employee of the month! What reason were you nominated for?
My management skills and the motivation of my teams.

What is your chosen charity?
I am nominating St Oswald’s Hospice. It is a cause very close to my heart.

What made you choose this charity?
St Oswald’s Hospice helped care for my dad in the last few days of his life. Although he was only there for a couple of days before passing away, the charity was absolutely brilliant with my whole family during what was a very difficult time, in particular my mum who was able to stay with him in his room.

How will your charity use the money from Allay?
The money donated will go towards helping families make the most of the time they have together by improving patients’ quality of life.

What did you want to be when you were younger?
A beautician. I studied beauty therapy, hairdressing and aromatherapy for 4 years before making the career move to join Allay.

What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to sing and am a big fan of karaoke, busker sessions and going to gigs. I also enjoy watching rugby and spending time with my two pooches.

If you were to win a PPI Case, what would you spend the money on?
It would all go towards my wedding fund!
